‘La Misericordia’ Bullring recovers the festivities of San Jorge, in honor of the Aragonese patron, on its usual dates
Zaragoza will have bulls on April 23, San Jorge (Saint George) Day, and the weekend that follows, on 27 and 28. After the problems of deadlines last year due to the change of company, there was no choice but to incorporate the celebrations of San Jorge Fair to the October cycle. This year everything returns to normal and in Zaragoza we can enjoy a very interesting fair at the end of April.

Traditional Livestock Contest Bullfight
The event reaches its XLI edition this year and will take place on April 23, Day of San Jorge, patron of the autonomous community of Aragón. The irons of Saltillo, Miura, Carriquiri, Concha and Sierra, Murteira Grave and Toros de Pablo Mayoral will compete for the trophy for the Best Bull; while the bullfighters López-Chaves, Daniel Cuevas, David Galván and their respective crews will do so for the Best Fighter and Best jab on horse awards.

El Fandi, Miguel Ángel Perera and Alberto López-Simón will arrive at the weekend to face a Conde de Mayalde bullfight, specifically on Saturday the 28th. The return of the figures to the posters of this little fair is great news, an incentive more sign of the category of the Zaragoza Bullring and that things are being done well.
A steer-bullfight from Doña María Cascón will close the cycle on Sunday afternoon, April 28. The ‘paseíllo’ will be made by three young bullfighters with a promising future: Francisco de Manuel, winner of the 2018 season and present in all the fairs this 2019; Adrien Salenc, who will take the alternative at the next Istres Fair and showed how prepared he is for it two weeks ago at Las Ventas; and the local Jorge Isiegas, the future of bullfighting in Aragón.

Parallel cultural activities
In addition to the festivities in the ring, different activities have been programmed to complete the offer of San Jorge 2019. The presentation of a publication on the Book Day, April 23; the premiere of a short film during a conference or the release of cattle with students from the bullfighting schools of Zaragoza and Huesca, can be enjoyed at this time.
