Teruel: A fair for all tastes and all audiences

The Fair of the Vaquilla del Ángel in Teruel presents a wide range of offers. Not only bullfighting on foot or on horseback, but there is also a varied range of shows for lovers of popular festivities. The Teruel bullring will be, as every year, one of the nerve centers of the festivities of this Aragonese capital due to its rich and versatile proposal. Impossible to see more assortment in fewer days. Starting with the main courses, the bullfights, these will take place on the weekend of Friday, July 5 and Saturday, July 6. The first day is the turn of the figures, as Morante de la Puebla, Sebastián Castella and Manzanares are announced, a round poster, which is completed with the bulls of Domingo Hernández and José Vázquez. The next day the bullfighting dish is served by the Saltillo ranch. The gray bulls owned by José Joaquín Moreno Silva will delight fans of the bull – bull. Against them three “specialists” in these tasks, such as Francisco Javier Sánchez Vara, Octavio Chacón and Alberto Lamelas. Lovers of horseback bullfighting are cited on Thursday, July 4 with a poster that mixes youth and experience. Sergio Galán and the Portuguese Moura Caetano bring experience and tradition to a combination that finishes off the Granada-born Sebastián Fernández, one of the most promising promises of the new batch of rejoneadores, who last year also occupied the first place in the ranking. The bulls, of maximum guarantee for this type of festivities, wear iron and currency of Murube. The lower ranking is represented in a broad and extensive way. Both with horses and without the mounted ones. The novilleros with picadores Tomás González and Pedro Montaldo are announced together with the local bullfighter Sergio Cerezos, in a mixed one on Sunday, June 30, with cattle from Los Ronceles, while on Wednesday 3 it is the turn of the novilleros without horses: Jorge Mallén, Arturo Cartagena and Juan Alberto Torrijos will face a batch of calves from José Luis Pascual. All this abundant proposal is complemented by a comic bullfighting show (Popeye Torero, on Tuesday, July 2), the II Supercup of Spain of Cuts with wild bulls (Saturday 6) and a novel show, which is presented in Teruel directly from the United States, which is named Bullfighters Only (Saturday 29). The bulls with balls and the releases of heifers at night complete the programming.
