A Unique Event for the Young Generation
Illescas is set to host a one-of-a-kind spectacle on 12 April. A bullfight designed specifically for young people, created by and for them. But this event offers much more than just the corrida—it’s packed with surprises and all at incredibly affordable prices. Join the experience, get your ticket, and enjoy the show. Bullfighting is in fashion!
There was a time when bullfighting was considered a pastime for the older generation—or at least, that’s what critics claimed. But today, the evidence is clear: young people are attending bullfights in large numbers, regularly filling the stands at ferias and arenas across Spain.
For many, bullfighting has become a trend, something to experience live and share on social media with pride and enthusiasm. They enjoy it not just in the bullring but also in the many entertainment options that surround the event, sometimes directly linked to the spectacle itself.
This shift has been supported by a new generation of bullfighting promoters who are modernising the industry. These young entrepreneurs are taking over major bullrings and making it easier for newcomers to enjoy the experience, offering discounts, promotions, and engaging content on platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok.
Another key factor in this resurgence is the matadors themselves, especially the biggest stars of the toros. They have played a crucial role in attracting their peers—and even older generations—who first come out of curiosity and later return as devoted fans, whether of the tradition itself or of a particular torero.
This movement reaches its peak on 12 April in Illescas, where the Corrida de la Juventud will take place. This mixed-format bullfight features not only classic corrida action but also rejoneo (bullfighting on horseback) with the renowned Guillermo Hermoso de Mendoza. The event also highlights the rising star Olga Casado, the most talked-about female bullfighter in recent months following her stunning performance at the Vistalegre winter festival.
But the biggest name of the evening, and the true driving force behind this event, is none other than Andrés Roca Rey—the most celebrated matador of the moment. His participation alone guarantees the importance of this spectacle and his commitment to the future of bullfighting. Organised by businessman Maximino Pérez, this extraordinary event will take place in the picturesque, multi-purpose arena of Illescas, featuring bulls from the prestigious ranches of El Capea, Domingo Hernández, and Rocío de la Cámara.
And it truly is an experience—because for the first time, Illescas introduces the Experience Ticket, an exciting innovation that includes a pre-event discussion with the matadors, followed by a music festival from 8:30 PM until 2:00 AM. All of this for just €30 if you’re under 35! Or, if you prefer to attend just the bullfight, tickets start at €25.
Expect food trucks, surprises, and—above all—unforgettable fun. The younger generation is leading the way, and they’re proving that bullfighting is more alive than ever. Illescas will be the place to be. So, what are you waiting for? Get your ticket now!
