The city of Illescas is preparing to welcome another edition of the Feria del Milagro, a bullfighting event that has firmly established itself as one of the most significant dates in the Spanish bullfighting calendar. In 2025, the fair will feature two major events: a bullfight on Saturday, 8th March, starring Manzanares, Talavante, Fernando Adrián, and Juan Ortega, and a rejoneo spectacle on Sunday, 9th March, with Andy Cartagena, Diego Ventura, and Leonardo Hernández.
However, the impact of the Feria del Milagro goes beyond the bullring. According to a report by economist Diego Sánchez de la Cruz, the event generates over €2 million in just two days, directly benefiting local businesses, hospitality, and tourism.
A Social and Economic Driver for Illescas
For Mayor José Manuel Tofiño, the fair not only keeps the bullfighting tradition alive but also plays a vital role in the city’s economy. “Illescas becomes the heart of the Fiesta, with packed crowds and an incredible atmosphere in the streets. It’s not just about bullfighting; it’s a social event that brings visibility and drives economic activity,” he emphasised.
The fair’s impact is reflected in impressive numbers: 11,500 spectators over two days, fully booked hotels, and a hospitality sector experiencing one of its busiest periods of the year. “Just stepping outside during those days is enough to see the effect: bustling terraces, restaurants operating at full capacity, and an unparalleled festive ambiance,” remarked Francisco Rodríguez, City Council representative.
Moreover, the fair’s influence extends into the digital realm, with Illescas trending on social media throughout the event. “A decade ago, this was unthinkable. Today, the Feria del Milagro not only meets expectations but exceeds them year after year,” Rodríguez added.
